Job Description
WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, NH, is seeking a full-time Digital Content Producer to create content for its website, mobile products, and social media platforms. The ideal candidate must be an excellent storyteller capable of editing and producing content under intense competition and constant deadline pressure.
Responsibilities
- Write/edit and publish breaking news and weather, daily news, sports, and feature stories for the station website and other social media platforms
- Create compelling headlines, especially for mobile and social media, and develop mobile push notifications for breaking news and severe weather
- Collaborate with reporters and assignment editors to ensure content is posted accurately and quickly
- Work with producers, assignment editors, and managers to promote content across all platforms
- Develop multimedia special projects
- Manage live streams of newscasts and breaking news
- Contribute ideas to enhance the station's digital platforms
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web-publishing environment
- Compelling news and editorial judgment
- Excellent AP writing skills
- Basic knowledge of video editing
- Experience with social media best practices
- Flexibility to work different shifts including nights and weekends, and holidays on short notice to cover a 24-hour news cycle
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
- Proficiency in Photoshop
