Digital Content & Communications Manager
Position Overview
The Digital Content & Communications Manager serves as the primary storyteller and digital brand manager for the Catholic Academy of Sussex County, which incorporates three schools: Reverend George A. Brown Memorial School, Pope John XXIII Middle School, and Pope John XXIII Regional High School. This position is responsible for developing, creating, and distributing compelling content across digital platforms, including social media, websites, email communications, and marketing campaigns.
Essential Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling - Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that showcases the mission, achievements, and daily life of the Academy at all three schools. Capture high-quality photography and video content at school events, athletic contests, classroom activities, performances, and special programs. Create engaging graphics, short-form videos, reels, stories, and promotional materials for digital and print use. Produce content that highlights student accomplishments, faculty excellence, academic programs, athletics, arts, and community service initiatives. Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and strategic communication throughout the year.
Social Media Management - Manage all school social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms. Utilize Meta Business Suite to schedule, monitor, analyze, and optimize social media content and advertising campaigns. Monitor engagement, respond appropriately to messages and comments, and identify opportunities to increase audience interaction. Analyze social media performance metrics and provide regular reporting on reach, engagement, audience growth, and campaign effectiveness. Collaborate with admissions and advancement teams to support enrollment, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives through digital campaigns.
Website Management - Serve as the primary administrator for the Academy websites using Finalsite. Update website content regularly to ensure accuracy, relevance, and visual appeal. Create and maintain landing pages, news articles, event pages, and program content. Ensure websites support enrollment and marketing objectives through effective user experience and content organization. Monitor website analytics and recommend improvements to increase engagement and conversions.
Communications & Marketing - Develop and distribute internal and external communications, including newsletters, announcements, press releases, and marketing materials. Produce regular email communications for parents, alumni, prospective families, and community stakeholders. Maintain relationships with local media outlets and coordinate publicity opportunities. Support admissions, advancement, athletics, and school leadership with marketing and communication initiatives. Assist in developing and executing digital advertising campaigns.
Brand Management - Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and visual identity across all communications platforms. Maintain a digital asset library of photography, video, graphics, and marketing materials. Establish and promote best practices for content creation and brand representation throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, digital content creation, or social media management.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and developing content strategies.
- Strong proficiency with Meta Business Suite, including scheduling, analytics, audience management, and paid advertising.
- Experience managing websites through Finalsite or similar content management systems.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent creative software.
- Experience with photography, videography, and video editing.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Understanding of digital marketing, SEO best practices, and website analytics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with various departments.
- Availability to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
- Experience with digital advertising campaigns on Meta and Google platforms.
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms and marketing automation tools.
- Familiarity with student information systems, specifically Finalsite and Powerschool.
