Gunner · Stamford, CT · 1 mo ago
HybridMarketingFull-time

About the role

As our Digital Content & AI Optimization Specialist, you will sit at the intersection of digital marketing, content strategy, and artificial intelligence. You will help us reverse-engineer how Large Language Models (LLMs) source, evaluate, and recommend brands, and you will create the high-quality content required to capture that digital real estate.

Responsibilities

  • AI Search Strategy: Research and test how major LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity) retrieve and rank information related to the roofing and home improvement industry
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and publish clear, authoritative, and engaging content (blogs, FAQs, whitepapers, case studies) designed to be highly "readable" by both humans and AI models
  • Optimization: Update existing web copy, service pages, and knowledge bases to ensure our brand messaging is accurately ingested by AI web crawlers
  • Monitoring & Analytics: Track Gunner's brand visibility and sentiment within AI platforms. Design testing methodologies using various prompts to measure our "share of voice" in generative outputs
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with our development and traditional marketing teams to implement technical web updates that support AI discovery

Requirements

  • Technical Requirements:
    • AI Literacy: Strong familiarity with leading LLMs and AI-powered search engines. You understand the basics of how these models work (e.g., prompt engineering, context windows, and hallucinations)
    • Search Architecture Concepts: A foundational understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and how AI systems index and pull real-time data from the web
    • Technical SEO Knowledge: Familiarity with on-page SEO, structured data (Schema markup), and semantic HTML. You know how to structure information so machines can easily understand and categorize it
    • Data Analysis: Ability to use basic analytics tools to track performance, run A/B tests on content, and interpret data to adjust strategies
  • Marketing Requirements:
    • Degree: Recent graduate (0-2 years experience) with a degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Exceptional Writing Skills: You can distill complex construction or roofing concepts into digestible, authoritative content. (Please be prepared to share a portfolio or writing samples)
    • Brand Voice: Ability to maintain a consistent, professional, and approachable tone that aligns with Gunner's premium brand identity
    • Digital Strategy: A solid grasp of inbound marketing principles, content marketing funnels, and traditional SEO best practices
  • Agility & Curiosity: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are excited to experiment in a field (GEO) that is changing every single month.

Benefits

  • An unmatched, high-energy company environment
  • 401(k): Company match after 6 months
  • United Healthcare (medical, dental, vision) with company contribution after 60 days
  • PTO: Unlimited plan after 60 days
  • Company-issued iPhone and MacBook
  • Clear path to promotions within the organization
