About the role

Our client is seeking a Digital Asset Content Manager to work in the highly competitive, fast-moving, and exciting world of gaming and entertainment. As the Content Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams across the studios—including game development, art, operations, licensing and partnerships, education, social media and community, and marketing—to assess, design, and build a content management system (CMS) solution that meets each team’s needs, goals, and end-use with internal and external partners.

The initial scope of work includes assessing best-in-class platforms and exploring digital asset management (DAM) and CMS solutions. You will serve as the point person for IT and business management for DAM and CMS third-party software solutions, identifying studio needs, building content hierarchy, advocating for asset preparation and organization, and laying the groundwork to migrate collated assets to the chosen CMS and DAM software. This role involves tracking procurement and implementation of software that directly impacts studio onboarding and productivity, requiring adaptability to the constantly changing needs of the studio and its partners. The position deals with highly confidential materials and requires strict adherence to non-disclosure agreements.

  • Manage remote collaboration with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Build a content hierarchy and create a strategy for CMS and DAM that meets the studios’ needs.
  • Set and project manage CMS and DAM software exploration and execution timelines.
  • Work closely with IT to explore and execute Request for Proposals (RFPs) for CMS and DAM solutions.
  • Maintain regular communication with studio teams to ensure efficiency and security for third-party solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines, including developers, designers, artists, writers, and localization teams.
  • If a CMS/DAM solution is procured, manage internal onboarding sites and processes to improve studio-wide knowledge and communication.
  • Perform administrative and production tasks related to multiple internal and external projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in program management, digital content publishing/management, or a writing/editing role (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7 years of experience working with assets, CMS, and digital asset management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with a variety of digital assets and content types.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and Bridge).
  • Excellent cross-team communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of media archiving best practices and experience creating taxonomies.
  • Editorial experience: writing, editing, and manipulating documents for review and publishing.
  • Familiarity with the mechanics of popular online gaming features (e.g., player progression, social spaces, multiplayer).
  • Project management experience and ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Communications, Business, Instructional Design, or a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the above fields and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of recent experience with knowledge management and/or digital publishing modalities (e.g., web, social media, in-product, training).
  • Experience working with various CMS solutions (e.g., Atlassian’s Confluence CMS, Canto’s Cumulus DAM system).
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
  • Experience working in a multi-media or game studio environment.
  • Proficiency in MySQL database management.
  • Understanding of current accessibility requirements and best practices.
  • Basic understanding of web-based composition principles.
