Workdays/shifts: Varying shifts, days/hours (open availability preferred). More details will be provided during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the implementation of the Nutrition Care Process in general clinical practice through nutrition screening and data collection to support the RDN in assessment and nutrition diagnosis.
- Completes other tasks as delegated by the RDN to support intervention, monitoring and evaluation; is accountable for the provision of safe and reliable care and services, including referral to the RDN when a higher level of care is warranted.
- Completes documentation in accordance with individual and statutory scope of practice, regulatory standards, and facility policies, protocols and practice guidelines.
- Provides evidence-based nutrition education, guidance and training as assigned by the RDN or operations leaders to meet basic clinical needs, promote overall health & wellness, educate personnel, interns and students on nutrition care strategies, and support foodservice staff competency.
- Functions within established educational, operational and documentation guidelines using resources as provided and initiates referrals as needed to elevate care, support continuation/adjustment of nutrition care plans or enhance educational processes.
- Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice in a Dietetic Technician Program as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
- Bachelor’s degree with completion of required coursework in a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) as dictated by ACEND, or required coursework and supervised practice in a Certified Dietary Manager Program as dictated by the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM)
- 0 to 1 year work experience
