Dietetic Technician

About the role

The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is seeking per diem Dietetic Technicians to join their team in their skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will provide and nutrition services that are essential to the residents' health, happiness & wellbeing.

Responsibilities

- Receives, verifies and maintains accuracy of all diet orders - Gives menus to new admissions - Retrieves communication sheets - Modifies resident/patient menus according to therapeutic needs - Assists residents/patients with menus as needed - Enters menus into Geri Menu, nutrition computer program - Posts weekly menus on units - Prints and separates daily meal tickets

Requirements

- Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition - Prior experience in long term care environment strongly preferred - Friendly, sociable, and able to provide comfort to patients with good interpersonal skills - both verbal and in writing - Team member with a collaborative, team-based work environment - Vaccinated against COVID-19
