Dietetic Assistant Director
About the role
The Department of Dietetics at Metropolitan State Hospital is seeking a full-time, permanent Dietetics Assistant Director. This position oversees the clinical operations of Nutrition Services and supervises Clinical Dietitians.
Responsibilities
- Manages the operating functions of Nutrition Services clinical area.
- Reviews and revises staff units/caseloads based on operational needs.
- Completes audits of dietitians’ nutrition assessments.
- Reviews nutrition curriculum for patient education and attends dietitian groups/classes.
- Reviews and revises all clinical related policies on an annual basis.
- Reviews and revises diet manual.
- Oversees enteral nutrition inventory and orders based on patient needs.
- Attends administrative and departmental meetings as required and participates in various committees.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- One year of experience in California State Service performing the duties of a classification with a level of responsibility equivalent to Registered Dietitian.
- One year of clinical or administrative experience in dietetic practice.
- Educational requirement: Equivalent to graduation from college with a major in dietetics or institutional management from a coordinated undergraduate dietetic program or a formalized post-baccalaureate education program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
