DIETARY SUPERVISOR - YADKIN NURSING CARE CENTER

About the Role

Assure quality dietary services by directing, coordinating, and supervising Dietary Services staff. Assume responsibility as Dietary Services Director in accordance with local, state, and federal sanitation and other laws regulating food service, as well as Facility policies and procedures. Coordinate food service to ensure patients receive nutritious, attractively served diets as ordered by their attending physician in accordance with the approved corporate menu cycle.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Care Plans and MDS conferences.
• Complete nutritional assessments and dietary sections of MDS.
• Prepare and monitor work schedules for dietary services staff.
• Oversee the orientation and training of dietary services employees per Facility policy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cost accounting, record keeping, budget planning, menu planning, diet therapy, and purchasing procedures.
• Serve on related committees as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Dietary Manager Training program approved by the Dietary Managers Association and pass the National Certification exam.
• Maintain current certification by attending seminars and/or workshops, completing at least 45 hours every three years.
• Demonstrated experience with MDS and the ability to accurately assess nutritional needs of residents.
• Leadership ability and strong organizational skills.
• Read, know, and follow personnel, department, and Facility procedures.
• Comply with DMA Code of Ethics and Standards of Performance.
