Your Role as the Dietary Service Aide
The Dietary Service Aide assists the dietary team with meal preparation, service, and sanitation while following dietary guidelines, health regulations, and Americare’s standards of care. This role plays an important part in resident satisfaction, safety, and daily quality of life.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with accurate preparation and service of meals to residents, visitors, and staff
- Support person-centered dining by creating a welcoming, home-like environment
- Work collaboratively with other dietary team members
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
- Follow food safety, infection control, and dietary guidelines
- Assist with special meals, nourishments, and activities as needed

Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and resident-centered care
- Adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations
Physical Demands
- Stand, sit, walk, and change positions frequently
- Lift or carry up to 25 lbs.; push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Reach, balance, kneel, stoop, and bend as needed
Safety Requirements
- Follow safety policies, including use of carts for transporting items
- Wear skid-resistant, supportive footwear to prevent slips and falls
- Use required PPE when handling food or equipment
- Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
- Participate in company drug testing procedures
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional kitchen and dining environment, utilizing stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, coolers, and other food service equipment. The environment is indoors with adequate lighting and ventilation.
