Dietary-Food Service Worker

About the role

The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is seeking part-time Food Service Workers to join its Food and Nutrition Services department. Variable shifts are available, including morning, afternoon, and evening hours, with weekend availability required (Saturdays and Sundays).

Responsibilities

• Set up work station
• Assemble resident/patient meal trays
• Deliver food carts
• Remove completed trays from dining areas
• Follow proper sanitation procedures
• Assemble and deliver supplements
• Operate food equipment
• Complete meal cart delivery report
• Check each meal tray for completeness
• Store food and supplies
• Understand written and oral instructions
• Adhere strictly to infection control policy and procedures

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays
• Prior experience in a healthcare or customer service role in food service strongly preferred
