Dietary Cook

Cook Responsibilities

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Cooking with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures.
• Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, and other duties as requested.

About the Role

Schedule

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts to accommodate meal service needs.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Skills

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
