About the role

The Dietary Associate-Food Service at Mount Sinai Hospital is a part-time, days and weekends position under the direction of the Patient Services Manager.

Responsibilities

• Print, organize, and sort patient menus by nursing units.
• Update diet changes and missed meals before each meal.
• Maintain dialogue with Clinical Dietitians regarding patient dietary preferences and requirements.
• Monitor TDS/CBORD interfaces and enter/review patient data for quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Review patient census information and work as a liaison with CTS for meal setup.
• Obtain and communicate changes in patient diets and room statuses as needed.
• Organize and distribute daily patient menus for non-TDS/CBORD units.
• Enter patient meal preferences using a bedside menu entry system.
• Deliver meal trays to patients and retrieve soiled trays.
• Insert new menus and pull discharges, check and restock floor supplies.
• Communicate with Clinical Dietitians about patient needs and special orders.
• Answer phones promptly and courteously, recording calls on the Diet Office log.
• Ensure patient satisfaction by being available during meal times.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and use good guest relations skills.
• Maintain patient confidentiality as required by MSMC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college and/or higher academic standing preferred.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $25.6918 - $27.6053 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
