About the role

The Dietary Associate-Food Service at Mount Sinai Hospital is responsible for various tasks related to patient menus, communication with clinical dietitians, and maintaining a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient census information and work as a liaison to CTS for meal set up.
• Obtain changes in patient diet and room status as needed.
• Communicate effectively with unit staff in regard to changes and as assigned print menu changes, organize by nursing units, and print daily patient menus.
• Distribute all printed menus to nursing units, enter patient meal preference, deliver meal trays to the patient's bedside, retrieve soiled trays, and return food truck to the kitchen.
• Maintain a dialog with Clinical Dietitians regarding patient's special dietary preferences and requirements.
• Monitor interface of TDS/CBORD and enter/review appropriate patient data for Quality Improvement purposes and enhancement of patient satisfaction.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner and record calls on the Diet Office log as necessary.
• Remain available to patients at meal times to ensure patient satisfaction by making sure they receive correct orders.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and speak in a courteous manner using good guest relations' skills.
• Maintain patient confidentiality as required by MSMC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Sometime college and/or higher academic standing preferred.

The salary range for the role is $25.6918 - $27.6053 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
