About the role
NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans. As a Dietary and Food Cook, you will help in our commitment to serve others by coordinating menus, preparing food for the individuals receiving our services and clean and maintain all common areas. Pay
- $19.00–$20.00/hour (based on experience)
- 2 hours of overtime pay each shift
- On-demand pay via Dayforce Wallet
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 10-hour shifts; 7:00 am to 5:30 pm
- Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
- Repeat
Location
Santa Ana, CA — 14-bed NeuroRestorative facility located on 17th St. In-patient residential setting, sub-acute physical rehab.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain kitchen and other work areas so that health standards are met and the home is neat and debris-free
- Maintain and clean counter and floor surfaces, and empty trash receptacles
- Follow universal precautions and procedures regarding cleaners, hazardous materials, and infection control
- Disinfect equipment and supplies
- Purchase groceries and kitchen supplies
- Review work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared
- Prepare, season, and cook food
- Carve portions of meat, fish, or fowl for individual servings
- Inspect food storage and directs sanitary maintenance of kitchen and storage facilities
- Oversee and coordinate activities of kitchen workers preparing and cooking foods
- Plan and review menus
- Determine food quantities, labor, and overhead costs
Requirements
- Current food handler's certificate
- Kitchen/restaurant and/or cook experience required (preferably in healthcare)
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach
- An acute attention to detail
