In this role, you will assist in meal service, food preparation, and maintaining sanitation standards within a healthcare or senior living setting. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive dining experience for residents and patients while ensuring compliance with safety and dietary requirements.DutiesServe meals to residents or patients in accordance with their dietary needs and preferencesAssist with food preparation, including basic cooking, portioning, and plating of mealsMaintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation and cleaning proceduresSupport the dietary department by bussing tables, clearing trays, and ensuring a tidy environmentAdhere to food safety protocols, including proper handling of food and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service and preparationFollow established procedures for manual handling and safe lifting practices to prevent injurySkillsPrior assisted living or dietary aide experience preferred; food industry or culinary background is a plusKnowledge of food production, preparation, and serving techniquesFamiliarity with food safety standards such as JCAHO guidelines and sanitation practicesStrong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficientlyExcellent customer service skills with the ability to work compassionately with geriatric patients or residentsAbility to operate kitchen equipment safely and adhere to workplace safety protocolsBasic math skills for portioning and inventory managementExperience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments is highly desirableAbility to lift heavy objects safely while following proper lifting techniquesKnowledge of nutrition principles relevant to senior care settingsJoin us in making a difference through nourishing our residents’ well-being!
