DIETARY AIDE, Nutrition Services - Part Time
About the role
Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Acute rehabilitation includes occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition, with advanced treatment for stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. Adult behavioral health services expand the current 50 and older program to all adults 18 years and older, managed by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists, providing individualized care plans with individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24‑hour secure, compassionate environment. Responsibilities
- Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on diet order, approved recipes and patient meal tickets
- Uses proper techniques to ensure food safety. Techniques include, but not limited to: hand hygiene, glove use, temperature monitoring/control, cleaning and sanitizing
- Follows procedures for stocking trayline, prep areas and nourishment rooms
