DIETARY AIDE, Nutrition Services - Part Time

About the role

Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124‑bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375 E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada. The facility emphasizes quality and convenience, providing peace of mind to patients. Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the Diet Aide performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on diet order, approved recipes and patient meal tickets
• Uses proper techniques to ensure food safety, including hand hygiene, glove use, temperature monitoring/control, cleaning and sanitizing
• Follows procedures for stocking trayline, prep areas and nourishment rooms
• Utilizes proper delivery and pickup procedures including patient identification, isolation techniques, and dishroom procedures

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred)
• ServSafe certification (preferred)
• Foodservice experience or equivalent nutrition background (preferred)
