About the role
Provides assistance in all food functions as directed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders.
- Prepare and serve residents’ nutritional bedtime snacks and substitute foods for residents who refuse foods served.
- Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations.
- Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures to ensure utensils are readily available for the next meal.
- Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
- Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
- Serve food and drinks in the dining room as instructed.
- Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dish room as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- One year of dietary experience in a healthcare facility or other institution is preferred but not required.
