About the role

As a Dietary Aide at Edenbrook of Greenwood Hill, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, delicious meals and snacks served with care and attention. You will perform various tasks in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring food is prepared, served, and cleaned up according to established procedures and health standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all meals are served in an attractive and appetizing manner, considering dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Follow established schedules to deliver meals and snacks promptly to designated areas.
• Prepare and pre-portion food as directed, ensuring correct quantities according to the planned menu and resident diet orders.
• Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and service, adhering to safe food handling guidelines; record food temperatures as required.
• Serve resident meals and snacks accurately, following the planned menu, specific diet orders, and individual food preferences.
• Utilize appropriate portion control utensils to ensure consistent and appropriate serving sizes.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to established procedures for manual and automatic dishwashing; record water temperatures and sanitizer levels as required.
• Report any issues with water temperature or sanitizer to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring dishes, utensils, and equipment are stored properly to prevent contamination.
• Assist in various tasks within the dietary department as needed to ensure smooth kitchen and dining service operations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques.
• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job.
• Effective communication skills with residents and their family members.
• Patience, politeness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English through verbal and written means.

Schedule

Full time, part time, and PRN shifts available.
