About the role
As a Dietary Aide, you will serve residents’ meals and maintain cleanliness in the dietary department.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance on a timely basis.
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
- Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, following established policies and procedures.
- Sweep and mop floors as directed.
- Wash and clean utensils as directed.
- Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms as instructed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow sanitation processes and maintain cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
- Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and kitchen sanitation preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Experience in industrial food production preferred.
- Prior experience in a long-term care facility is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, and grasping.
- Fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical aids.
