Diet Clerk- Call Center - PT - 4S Ranch

About the role

Scripps Health Administrative Services supports five hospital campuses, 31 outpatient centers, clinics, emergency rooms, urgent care sites, along with 17,000 employees, more than 3,000 affiliated physicians and 2,000 volunteers. This is a part-time, fully benefitted position located at the Scripps Health Corporate Dietary Call Center in 4S Ranch.

Responsibilities

• Process diet orders
• Assist patients with menu selections
• Distinguish between food and medication allergies
• Maintain current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance with physician diet orders
• Function effectively in a high‑volume call center environment
• Serve as liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments handling patient complaints, food issues, and basic questions about meals/diets

Requirements

• SD County Food Handler Card, or Food Safety Certificate, or able to pass Food Handlers test given by a certified manager or designee within 30 days of hire

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced office environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in multiple computer systems
• Experience using EMR
• College courses in nutrition
• Bilingual English/Spanish
