Diesel Truck - Trailer Mechanic

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a skilled Trailer Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Hampton, GA. The position offers a competitive compensation range of $27-$32 per hour, paid weekly on Fridays, and full benefits starting within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on class 7 - 8 trailers
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 3+ years’ of hands-on experience performing class 7 - 8 trailer maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Qualifications

• Ability to successfully pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and DOT physical if required for the role

• Physical demands: frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
• Weather conditions: regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment, and working at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
• Work environment: exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases
