DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all types of repair and PM work on tractors and trailers
- Performs standard vehicle maintenance
- Performs standard component inspections and repairs
- Performs preventive maintenance and warranty work on equipment
- Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT)
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Abide by and provide feedback for continuous improvement of all EHSS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Additional duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Air conditioning and brake certifications
- Previous experience with engine and electrical diagnostics
- Driver’s License required, Class A CDL preferred
- Previous welding experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred
