About the role
As a Diesel Truck Mechanic, you will provide maintenance support through the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of trucks, trailers, and tankers. We prioritize health and safety, fostering a culture where every employee is empowered to act safely and ensure the well-being of their colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair trucks, trailers, and tankers; repair or replace vehicle transmissions, steering mechanisms, brakes, engines, and other associated parts as required.
- Complete diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results to develop solutions.
- Perform oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
- Fuel trucks, hook and unhook trailers, and operate forklifts to complete transfers.
- Test-drive repaired vehicles to gauge overall performance and quality issue resolution.
- Perform DOT pre-check and NYS inspections.
- Consult with customers and review work orders to evaluate immediate tasks and prepare the full scope of work.
- Maintain records of parts inventory and service vehicles.
- Conduct field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
- Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
Requirements
- High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 1+ years of diesel engine experience with a mechanical background (required).
- Previous welding experience (preferred).
