Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Diesel Truck Lot Porter in Salisbury, MA. This is an entry-level position with room to grow.
Pay
Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- First Shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Part-time hours are available

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year or more of mechanical and/or customer service experience
- Knowledge of truck and trailer equipment (advanced required)
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet Ryder’s driving qualifications
- CDL A or B required (preferred or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work in an outside environment/elements
- Customer focus and support
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Organized and capable of multi-tasking
- Light computer skills (tablet for checking/inspecting units, email)
This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Responsibilities
- Exercise trucks/tractors to assure equipment is roadworthy and ready for sale
- Ensure customer units are ready for delivery or transport without issues
- Transport equipment about the yard to maintain order, organization, and presentation
- Perform light mechanical work such as jump starts, battery installation, and fluid management while troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Coordinate and communicate with local Ryder shops or 3rd party service providers for repairs
- Ensure equipment is clean and presentable
- Submit weekly equipment exercise data via Teams
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
