Diesel Technician - Mechanic - Waterloo, NE

About the role

The Stormwater Structural Engineer III will collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure project-specific stormwater solutions meet structural requirements. This role supports the field sales team to build civil engineering customer relationships and meet commercial objectives, while also contributing to product development initiatives for structural components. The position is remote, located near one of our U.S. facilities.

Responsibilities

• Present project-specific solutions to civil engineering customers, effectively communicating product benefits and features.
• Provide accurate design calculations, basic illustrations, and guidance to integrate and secure Oldcastle products within site plans while ensuring structural integrity.
• Address project-specific inquiries and product structural requirements from civil engineering customers.
• Support area and internal team members to achieve team goals, including assisting the sales team during the project bid phase with design review and product design confirmation.
• Collaborate with production teams to align shop drawings with manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide project and technical support for submittal drawings, calculations, regulatory approvals, production, and product delivery.
• Maintain engineering standards and procedures.
• Accurately enter project information into the database to ensure data integrity and enable efficient tracking and reporting.
• Perform other assigned duties to contribute to team and business success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required; Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• 4+ years of experience with a solid background in structural design.
• Professional Engineering licensure preferred or ability to obtain within one year is required.
• Experience in reinforced concrete analysis and design.
• Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation and plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Enthusiasm and passion for achieving organizational goals.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to share thoughts openly and work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic CAD.
• Experience with SAP200, Eriksson Culvert, MathCAD, or RISA is preferred.

Pay

Yearly target salary is $95,000 to $110,000, with a yearly target bonus of 10%.
