Diesel Technician / Mechanic - Redmond, OR

About the role

Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) is seeking experienced Diesel Technicians for their Redmond, OR location. Founded in 1986, GTC operates 19 dealerships servicing commercial trucks for medium and heavy-duty applications. They offer a range of services including sales, financing, insurance, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostic tests and analyze results.
• Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Work knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/C and suspensions.
• Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
• Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems.
• Develop technical skills through training opportunities.
• Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the shop.

Requirements

Heavy equipment dealership experience is preferred, but other skill sets are welcome. Strong mechanical aptitude, a team player mentality, and a belief in safety first are essential qualities.

Qualifications

Must have a full complement of tools and be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Candidates must also pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check, and a motor vehicle records check for positions with driving responsibilities.

Skills

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various components of commercial vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems. Knowledge of electrical and air systems, and ability to read and interpret schematics.
