Diesel Technician/Mechanic (Mobile)

Responsibilities

• Traveling to client sites for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Heavy-Duty Trucks
• Performing corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles
• Troubleshooting various systems such as electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension
• Writing up accurate, clear, and detailed descriptions of repairs on the repair order
• Stocking and maintaining service truck inventory, tool collection, and necessary paperwork
• Maintaining service truck and using diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults
• Communicating with customers and providing detailed repair information
• Ordering parts from the parts department and performing road tests on customer vehicles
• Tracking and charging clocked hours to the correct repair orders
• Interacting professionally with customers and assisting other technicians as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Formal technical degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to read and interpret shop repair order forms, repair manuals, electrical schematics, and various technical bulletins
• Computer keyboard skills and basic Windows knowledge
• Frequent exposure to outside weather elements and ability to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime
• Physical abilities to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
