Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience
- Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school, and two years related experience
Responsibilities
- Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting, and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
- Accurately diagnoses malfunctions and performs necessary repairs, including engine failures, mechanical, and electrical system malfunctions
- Replaces parts and components as required
- Verifies vehicle serviceability and ensures quality repairs by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
- Keeps customer vehicles clean during repair process
- Communicates with service advisors and dispatchers if additional work is needed
- Aids service writers as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with customers, or in any other way necessary to guarantee customer satisfaction
- Maintains a clean, efficient work area and assists in keeping the shop neat and organized
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Understands the terminology of the automobile business and keeps abreast of technology changes in the product
- Follows all attendance and punctuality standards, adheres to timekeeping standards, records shift times, and maintains a professional appearance
- Attends pertinent training on request and attends company meetings as required
