Essential Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks, buses, and related equipment.
- Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, drivetrains, steering, suspension, brake systems, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, and service information systems to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to OEM standards and company quality expectations.
- Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
- Accurately document repairs, diagnostics, parts usage, and labor performed.
- Maintain productivity and efficiency standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Mentor and assist apprentice and entry-level technicians with diagnostics, repair procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Participate in manufacturer and company-sponsored training programs to maintain technical proficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of diesel truck repair experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a diesel technology or heavy equipment technician program.
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications.
- OEM certifications (Cummins, PACCAR, Detroit Diesel, Allison, Bendix, Meritor, Eaton, etc.).
- CDL or ability to obtain CDL.
- Experience with Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, or commercial bus platforms.
