About the role
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Nashville, TN. $5000 Sign on Bonus!
Responsibilities
- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
- Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
Qualifications
- Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Disassembles, inspects and cleans engines and /or engine components.
- Aids in completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensures adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

- Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards on working with low and/or high voltage by complying with all safe work procedures including Personal Protective Equipment to create a safe work environment; applies basic electrical theories and electronics components knowledge using appropriate tools and procedures to diagnose and repair products safely and efficiently.
- Identifies the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event; utilizes the appropriate electronic tool set to maintain the product or diagnose and troubleshoot an issue; interprets electronic tool results or recommendations to determine next steps for service resolution.
- Applies mechanical principles and theories using appropriate tools and procedures to diagnose and repair products safely and efficiently.
- Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair; disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines, using required tools to ensure a clean and organized environment; inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customers cost of ownership; performs progressive damage check following guidelines to restore to pre-failure condition.
- Captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.
- Elevates issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts; captures all troubleshooting steps in the appropriate database in order to ensure seamless transitions and accurate response to ticket resolution in a timely manner.

Benefits
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Minimal level of work shop experience required. Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products. Entry level diesel technician position. DOT A current valid license is required for this role. Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience. This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations. This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

Max Salary: $73200
