Diesel Engine Technician - Level I

Key Responsibilities

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
  • Disassembles, inspects, cleans and reassembles engines and / or engine components
  • Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines
  • Aids more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans for engines in the workshop
  • Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor

  • Buils strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions

  • Adapts approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations

Technical Escalation

  • Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources including data management tools
  • Elevates issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts
  • Captures all troubleshooting steps in the appropriate database in order to ensure seamless transitions and accurate response to ticket resolution in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Must have a current valid license for this role
  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Pay

$48,800 - $73,200
