About the role
Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in New Stanton, Pennsylvania. This is a stable company position with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Complete additional support duties as required, including Service Island support
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days
- Complete 2 of the OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix (predominant OEM of fleet mix completed within 365 days)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification preferred
- Post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) and basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- All other certifications as required by location
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

Pay
Hourly pay: $31.96 per hour
Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Sign-on bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
Schedule
Monday–Friday, weekends off
First shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
