Diesel Technician

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Saginaw, MI.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools
• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
• Provide technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians
• Be courteous, cooperative, and respectful of others on the shop floor and the branch

Requirements

• Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Locally Valid Driving Permit (Preferred)
• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements
• This role will be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
• A current valid license is required for this role
• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire (Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older)
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
