Diesel Technician

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles to make sure they are running properly (i.e. oil changes, filter changes, lubes)
  • Inspect various parts of the vehicle, including brake system, wheel bearings, steering mechanisms, air systems, and electrical system.
  • Diagnose vehicles using diagnosing software and mechanical test gauges
  • Use different tools as needed such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, floor jacks, hoists, and welding equipment.
  • Replace parts as needed to accomplish repairs.
  • Ensure Repair Orders are completed accurately. Address Safety Bulletins and Factory Warranties as needed.
  • Test drive vehicles to verify repairs are completed and the vehicle is ready for the customer to pick up.
  • Overtime (more than 40 hours in a week) may be required as needs dictate
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician
  • Ability to diagnose vehicles using diagnostic computers and software
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly
  • Good customer service skills
