Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles to make sure they are running properly (i.e. oil changes, filter changes, lubes)
- Inspect various parts of the vehicle, including brake system, wheel bearings, steering mechanisms, air systems, and electrical system.
- Diagnose vehicles using diagnosing software and mechanical test gauges
- Use different tools as needed such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, floor jacks, hoists, and welding equipment.
- Replace parts as needed to accomplish repairs.
- Ensure Repair Orders are completed accurately. Address Safety Bulletins and Factory Warranties as needed.
- Test drive vehicles to verify repairs are completed and the vehicle is ready for the customer to pick up.
- Overtime (more than 40 hours in a week) may be required as needs dictate
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Job Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician
- Ability to diagnose vehicles using diagnostic computers and software
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly
- Good customer service skills
