Diesel Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of all truck and body components including hydraulic systems, PTO's, electrical, HVAC, brake, engine, suspension and mechanical portions.
• Clean and maintain assigned work areas, including common shop areas and facility grounds.
• Dispense vehicle fuels and other essential fluids.
• Complete required forms and input required information into the fleet management information system in a timely manner.
• Perform road tests on trucks to assist with problem isolation or to verify repairs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment, including but not limited to lubrication and oil changes; seat repair; brake, wheel, tire, and battery services; belt, hose, headlight, and basic component replacement.
• Perform basic to intermediate skill-level repair work on diesel trucks and equipment, including but not limited to the alternator, starter, water pump replacement, and auxiliary equipment installation.
• Perform intermediate to advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical/electrical problems.
• Perform warranty repairs and diagnostics.
• Comply with all safety regulations, policies and local, state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of verified experience as a Class A Diesel Mechanic.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable, clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 100+ pounds.
• Basic Computer Skills to submit repairs for billing.
• Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily tasks.
• Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders.
• Own tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Class A CDL.

Skills

• Welding experience.
