First Student is building a talent pipeline for an upcoming Diesel Technician opportunity anticipated to open in July at our shop supporting the Whitman, Abington, Duxbury Academy, Norwell, Weymouth, Holbrook, and Rockland school districts.

Responsibilities
- Performing advanced maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Completing work orders and required documentation
- Supporting mobile emergency service calls as needed
- Ensuring all repairs meet DOT and company safety standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with diesel, automotive, electric, or CNG vehicles
- A valid CDL license or willingness to obtain a CDL B with "S" endorsement (training provided)
- A standard mechanic tool set
- Motivated to grow your knowledge through ASE certifications
- Desire for long-term stability within a strong union environment
Qualifications
- Applicants with or without a college degree
- Individuals with military experience
- Returning to the workforce
- Technicians seeking reliable hourly pay (not flat-rate)
Skills
- Hands-on experience with diesel, automotive, electric, or CNG vehicles
