Position Overview
Lano Equipment is seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Service Technician to join our team. This position focuses on the advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of premier Bobcat, Kubota, and Toro machinery. Serving as a technical expert in both the shop and the field, you will perform complex hydraulic, electronic, and Tier 4 diesel diagnostics to minimize downtime and optimize machinery performance. This role requires a solution-minded professional with a strong multi-brand background in compact construction, agricultural, and commercial turf equipment. You must be able to work independently, manage jobsites safely, and deliver a customer-centric service experience that meets OEM standards and supports our clients' success.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Bobcat, Kubota, and Toro construction, agricultural, and commercial turf equipment.
- Isolate and resolve complex failures across hydraulic, hydrostatic, electrical, and Tier 4 diesel engine systems.
- Travel to customer sites to deliver prompt emergency repairs and technical support using a company service vehicle.
- Independently manage variable jobsite conditions, executing field repairs safely and in strict alignment with OEM specifications.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair logs, documenting labor hours, parts used, and work performed.
- Provide clear updates regarding machine status, diagnostic findings, and repair timelines to customers and management.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience, acting as a trusted technical resource representing Lano Equipment.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Minimum 8 years as a diesel technician in heavy equipment, construction, or agricultural machinery.
- Deep understanding of Tier 4 engines, high-pressure hydraulics, hydrostatics, and electrical systems.
- Strong welding and structural fabrication skills for field repairs.
- Ability to travel regularly to customer sites for emergency diagnostics and on-site repairs.
- Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving history.
- Self-starter able to manage field conditions and customer interactions independently.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills to resolve complex equipment failures on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience repairing Bobcat, Kubota, or Toro equipment.
- Degree or certifications in diesel technology, fluid power, or electrical systems.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission field service vehicle.
