Diesel Service Apprentice / Mechanic
About the role
The Diesel Service Apprentice / Mechanic at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC performs light maintenance work under close supervision. This role is the first stage of training for Service Technician status. Duties include preventive maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, light electrical repairs, assisting Service Technicians in heavy-duty truck repair, attending training sessions, maintaining a neat work area, and handling company tools.
Essential Functions
- Performs maintenance type work (i.e. preventive maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, light electrical repairs, etc.) under supervision.
- Assists Service Technician in heavy-duty truck repair.
- Attends training sessions to gain knowledge and experience.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area and properly handles company tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
