About the role

Hill International Trucks, the Tri-State area’s leading medium- and heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership, is seeking Diesel Technicians for our mobile maintenance department in Aliquippa, PA. The Mobile Maintenance team supports customers in three key areas: Contract Fleet Preventative Maintenance, On-Call On-Site Maintenance, and 24-Hour Emergency Roadside Assistance. This position is based out of the Aliquippa, PA location and includes state-of-the-art service trucks fully equipped to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain diesel engine trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.
  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete repairs.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  • Save and tag parts for warranty claims or customer requests.
  • Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Notify service advisor/dispatcher immediately of additional work needed, unnecessary work, or delays in completing repairs.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and notify service advisor/dispatcher of any changes in vehicle appearance or condition.
  • Maintain a neat and clean shop area.
  • Account for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them to their proper place in the same condition.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know.
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely and report any safety issues to management immediately.

Requirements

  • 2-3 or more years of experience as a diesel technician (required).
  • Some computer skills preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred but not required.
  • Valid CDL Class B license preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Bending, stooping, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Frequent repetitive hand motion.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Frequent lifting of 5 to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of 50 to 100 lbs.
  • Performing accurate, knowledgeable, and detailed work.

Pay

$25–$45 per hour plus monthly performance bonuses and efficiency bonus incentives.

Schedule

Shifts range from 3:00 AM–11:00 AM and 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, with on-call duty every 3rd or 4th weekend and generalized road calls for other customers.
