About the Role
As a Mobile Mechanic/Technician, you’ll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light and medium-duty vehicles, including emergency roadside service when needed. Geared up with top-tier specialty tools and a supportive team, you’ll tackle new challenges daily and deliver safe, reliable, and efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light and medium-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment
- Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency
- Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance
- Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems
- Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs
- Road test vehicles to ensure repairs meet quality standards
- Meet or exceed industry-standard repair times
- Work with vendors to source parts and keep operations moving
- Maintain a company-issued service truck, including pre- and post-trip inspections and safety compliance
- Collaborate with the team and assist where needed
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on auto or diesel tech experience working on light to medium-duty vehicles
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and drivers
- Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools for organization and documentation
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions at customer yards
- Independent, dependable, and self-motivated with a safety-first mindset
- Aged 23+ with a clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Bring your own hand tools (all other equipment provided)
Work Environment
- Dynamic, high-traffic areas where safety and precision are critical
- Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment
- Handling chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work
- Lifting, moving, and positioning heavy equipment or components
- Physical activity including bending, kneeling, crawling, and crouching to access vehicle components
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
