Job Responsibilities
The Diesel Mechanic Program Coordinator position will work under minimal instruction/supervision within the guidelines established by the Dean of Manufacturing and Maintenance. The coordinator's duties will include program development, teaching courses, designing and developing curriculum, providing a systematic plan for delivering instruction, evaluating student performance, advising students and mentoring instructors. Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements, all required documentation, budgeting requirements and administrative reports. Also, assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- This position requires a bachelor's degree or an associate degree in diesel mechanics or automotive technology or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of work experience is also required and a valid South Carolina Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- A valid South Carolina Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- ASE master diesel or automobile technician certification must be submitted with the application.
- Two (2) years teaching experience in diesel or automotive technology is preferred.
- Documented industry/teaching experience to include evidence of experience with current technology within the last three (3) years is preferred.
- Candidate must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of software applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Documented automatic transmission experience and/or engine management and engine repair expertise.
