Diesel Mechanic ME04 - 1st Shift - Forest (MS) Live Haul

About the role

Diesel Mechanic (Level ME04) stationed out of the Tyson Foods Live Haul facility in Forest, MS. This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
• Conduct oil changes and greasing
• Repair or replace semi tires
• Perform brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers

Requirements

• Current Mississippi Driver’s License
• Must pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment
• Basic mechanical or maintenance skills
• Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance
• Ability to lift 60 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 30 feet
• Ability to bend, stretch, and reach
• Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors
• Ability to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools
• Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and regulations
• Ability to document information
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally

Qualifications

• 6 months operator experience within the past 12 months
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• High School diploma or equivalent, including technical or vocational schooling
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States
• Must pass a urinalysis screening as part of the post-offer health assessment
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered
• Minimum 180-day waiting period from previous Tyson employment
• Certain roles require background checks; additional documentation will be provided if an offer is extended
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay

Base pay: $27.15 per hour
