Diesel Mechanic ME04 - 1st Shift - Carthage, MS

About the role

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Stationed out of Tyson Foods Live Haul facility in Carthage, MS. Relocation assistance is not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers including oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers.

Requirements

• Must have 6 months operator experience in the past 12 months.
• Must have 3 to 5 years relevant experience to the role.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent including Technical or vocational schooling.
• Must have a current Mississippi Driver's License and pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment.
• Must have basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
• Must supply your own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 30 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools.
• Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
• Must have the ability to document information.
• Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age.
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered; minimum 180-day waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
• Must provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and pass a urinalysis screening as part of post-offer health assessment.

Pay

Base pay: $27.15 per hour.
