Mechanic 1 Diesel/Vehicle - (Day Shift)

Responsibilities

• Maintains company-owned light, medium, and heavy vehicles and trailers.
• Performs repairs to mechanical failures, including sheet metal, frames, suspensions, electrical, ignition, fuel, steering, hydraulic, and braking systems.
• Assists/trains other mechanics as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Complies with environmental laws and company policies.
• Reports environmental issues and follows emergency notification processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience or a vocational diploma, technical diploma, or associate degree in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing.
• Advanced knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and diesel engines.
• Ability to run diagnostic tests, test drive vehicles, and maintain detailed records.
• Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostic software.
• Strong commitment to teamwork and physical labor.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; CDL-A preferred.
• Basic computer skills and appropriate inventory of hand tools.
• Ability to operate hoisting and jacking equipment.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and be on call for emergencies.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
