Diesel Mechanic/Machinist
About the role
The Machinist (Diesel Mechanic) at Keolis is responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and roadway machinery at construction sites. This position requires a valid driver's license, a DOT Medical Card, and a Hoisting License. Essential duties include troubleshooting and performing heavy repairs to equipment components, solving work-related problems, and providing instructions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
- Solve work-related problems and provide instructions.
- Understand mechanical operations of machinery.
- Drive heavy duty service truck, including truck-mounted crane.
- Perform other duties as assigned during emergencies.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational credential.
- Five years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
- Welding experience required.
- Valid Driver's License - DOT Medical Card, Hoisting License. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical and electronic systems, and pneumatic systems as it pertains to the operation and maintenance of roadway machinery.
Qualifications
- Proven ability and practical experience with repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and roadway machinery at construction sites.
- Licenses & Certifications Required: Drivers License, CDL (preferred).
Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical and electronic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Understanding of mechanical operations of machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform heavy repairs to equipment components.

Pay
\$38.16/hr
Schedule
Shift work, including overtime and various shifts. May involve working outside in all types of weather conditions year-round.
