Diesel Mechanic Duties And Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines.
• Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting; tire maintenance; minor transmission repair; brake and air conditioning system repair.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.
• Prepare work orders and order parts.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Diesel Mechanic Requirements And Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED certificate.
• A valid driver's license (CDL strongly preferred).
• A diesel technician or mechanic degree (a plus).
• Experience with small diesel engine repair.
• Some welding experience (a plus).
• Mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
