About the Role
Responsible for all armored vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs of the Company-owned armored truck fleet. Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, and forklift equipment to manufacturers' guidelines to maintain safety and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform repair work on vehicles, including engine in-frame overhaul, valve jobs, transmission removal and replacement (R & R), and turbo preventive maintenance (PM).
- Perform operational tests of repairs to verify complaints.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Follow paper-flow procedures: document correct mileage, save and tag all warranty and core parts, and document all repairs on work orders.
- Follow part ordering and billing procedures.
- Perform final operational tests on all vehicles to check repairs.
- Inspect for cracks or damages on all vehicles to assess needed repairs.
- Fabricate parts as needed to complete repairs, including design work.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Diesel Medium/Light duty repair with knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and hydraulics of various vehicles.
- Experience with Ford, GM, and International engines is a plus.
- Must obtain and maintain D.O.T. certification.
- Current and valid California Driver’s License - Class B.
- Must have own tools.
Physical Demands
- Ability to operate forklift equipment.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, crawl, climb, and squat.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to grasp tools and perform repetitive motions (e.g., using wrenches).
Working Conditions
- Occasionally work outdoors, exposed to noise.
- Ability to climb heights of up to 12 feet.
