About the Role
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic at our Tonawanda, NY Service Center. This full-time, 2nd shift position (2:00 pm to 12:30 am, Monday - Friday) involves day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet, including preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Responsibilities may also include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding depending on location.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Handle major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts
- Maintain AC and electrical systems
- Conduct Trailer PMs (preventive maintenance) and repairs
- Use Cetaris for work orders
- Perform welding and maintain overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies as needed
Requirements
- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Ability to handle major repairs
- Experience with AC and electrical systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must have own tools
- 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
- Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
- Experience using Cetaris for work orders
- Class A CDL holder (preferred)
- Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks (preferred)
Pay
Hourly range is $28.25 - $40.48/hr.
