About the role
Lexington Public Schools has an opening for a full-time diesel mechanic position.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and experience in heavy‑duty diesel engines, air brakes, and DOT inspections
- Ability to work in varying heights and weather extremes throughout the year
- Lift up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Operate different types of power equipment
- Obtain a CDL with a bus permit within the first 6 months of employment
- Possess basic computer skills
- Pass a background check and a pre‑employment drug test
Requirements
- Two‑year degree in diesel mechanics preferred
- Provide professional references
